Manchester United’s pursuit of Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt has been confirmed by manager Erik ten Hag, but the deal is facing uncertainty.
Ten Hag, who previously worked with De Ligt at Ajax, stated that while he knows the player well, he did not initiate the transfer talks. “It remains to be seen whether De Ligt will come,” Ten Hag told AD Sportwereld. “I wanted to sign him two years ago, but he was already close to joining Bayern Munich. His name didn’t come from me in this process.”
Despite De Ligt’s desire to reunite with Ten Hag, the transfer has reportedly been delayed due to United’s recent signing of Leny Yoro from Lille. The Red Devils’ interest in De Ligt is still intact, but the deal’s outcome remains uncertain.
