The campaign team of US President Joe Biden has launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump’s newly announced running mate, J.D. Vance, labeling him a “far-right MAGA extremist”.
In a statement released on Monday, Biden’s team highlighted Vance’s controversial views, including his denial of the 2020 election results, support for a national abortion ban, and vote against IVF access.
President Biden himself took aim at Vance’s claims to be a champion of working people, saying, “Vance talks a big game about working people. But now, he and Trump want to raise taxes on middle-class families while pushing more tax cuts for the rich.”
The Biden campaign’s swift rebuke sets the tone for a contentious election season, with the President and his team gearing up to take on the Trump-Vance ticket.
