Tragedy struck on the Ikorodu-Ogijo Sagamu Expressway on Friday evening, as a road accident claimed the lives of two persons.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Saturday.
According to the Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe, the accident involved a Toyota Camry and a Mercedes Benz Truck, which occurred around 5:30 pm. Three male adults were involved, with two fatalities and one survivor. The corpses were released to the families of the deceased.
The FRSC attributed the accident to loss of control due to speeding. The Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga, commiserated with the families of the victims and urged motorists to avoid speed and drive with caution. He also emphasized the need for truck owners to install speed limit devices on their vehicles to prevent such incidents.
