The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his re-election as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
This follows his unanimous re-election by fellow Heads of Government at the 65th Ordinary Session of the Authority held in Abuja on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
In a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party praised Tinubu’s leadership, saying it was a testament to ECOWAS’ confidence in his inspiring leadership. “We are proud that his leadership acumen continues to resonate beyond our borders,” Morka said.
The party expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to consolidate his accomplishments and steer the Authority to greater heights, given his understanding of the regional body’s critical essence and roadmap. The APC prayed for wisdom and grace upon President Tinubu in his continued leadership role, bringing honour to the party and nation.
Tinubu was first elected ECOWAS Chair in July 2023 in Bissau, Guinea Bissau, for a one-year term. His re-election demonstrates the region’s trust in his leadership, and the APC celebrates this achievement.
