Elon Musk, CEO of X (formerly Twitter) and founder of SpaceX and Tesla, has expressed his disapproval of mail-in voting for the upcoming November election in the United States.
Musk advocated for manual paper ballots and in-person voting, stating that electronic voting machines and mail-in ballots are too risky.
According to Musk, “Electronic voting machines and anything mailed in is too risky. We should mandate paper ballots and in-person voting only. Mail-in and drop box ballots should not be allowed, as cameras on the in-person voting stations would at least prevent large-scale fraud by counting how many people showed up vs ballots cast.”
Musk’s stance comes after President Joe Biden announced his intention to veto a House Representatives bill aimed at preventing non-Americans from voting in the election. Biden argued that the bill is based on “easily disproven falsehoods” and would make it harder for eligible Americans to register to vote.
