Veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing custody battle between his niece, Sophia Momodu, and her ex-partner, Davido.
In a series of posts on his verified X handle, Momodu expressed surprise at Davido’s affidavit seeking joint custody of their daughter, stating that their previous conversations focused on his wedding and reconnecting with his daughter.
Momodu revealed that Davido and his family have always had access to the child and that Sophia’s requests for financial support, including school fees and accommodation, were the main issues. He noted that Davido’s father, Deji Adeleke, had been supportive and cleared the child’s school fees and provided a car.
Momodu emphasized that Sophia allowed Davido access to their daughter, provided her nanny was present, and urged both parties to prioritize their daughter’s well-being. He believes the lack of communication and friendship between Davido and Sophia has led to the current situation.
