Six Nigerian students from three secondary schools have received the prestigious Top in the World Outstanding Cambridge Learners Awards for their exceptional performance in the June and November 2023 Cambridge examination series.
At the British Council Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learners Awards in Lagos, Country Director Mrs Lucy Pearson announced that the students achieved the highest marks globally in English as a second language (speaking endorsement).
The awardees include Oluwademilade David and Omaghomi Sharon from Brookstone School, Obodoechi Chiedozie, Favour Chinecherem, and Fehintoluwa Erinayo from James Hope College, Lagos, and Bamidele Sharon from The Ambassadors Group of Schools.
Additionally, 95 students from 37 British Council partner schools received awards for achieving the highest marks in various subjects, while 71 students received Top in Nigeria awards for their outstanding performance.
The Regional Director, Sub-Sahara Africa International Education, Cambridge University, Mr Juan Visser, congratulated the learners on their academic achievements, stating that the awards reflect their talent, hard work, and dedication.
Oluwademilade David, speaking on behalf of the awardees, expressed their excitement and gratitude for the recognition.
