American singer, Jason Derulo, has shared a chilling account of how he broke his neck while rehearsing for his world tour in 2013.
In an interview on Paris Hilton’s ‘I Am Paris’ podcast, Derulo revealed that he suffered a devastating injury while training in the gym, forcing him to cancel his tour.
Derulo recounted the terrifying moment when he landed on his head, breaking his C-2 vertebrae. “I heard a big crack, and I was like, ‘Holy s**t, is this it? Is this how it all ends?'” he said. The singer feared it was the end for him, but thankfully, he made a remarkable recovery after seven months.
“I broke my neck in 2013,” Derulo said. “I was getting ready for my world tour and working with this trainer. He was like, ‘Today, we’re going to work on endurance, so I need you to do these back tucks back-to-back.’ I slipped during one of the back tucks, and I landed on my head, breaking my C-2 vertebrae.” Derulo’s bravery and resilience in sharing his near-death experience have inspired fans worldwide.
