Afrobeats superstar Davido’s legal battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, over their daughter Aurora Imade Adeleke’s custody has taken a new turn.
Momodu has filed a 102-paragraph counter affidavit through her legal team, Anthony Idigbe SAN and Dr Bimpe Ajegbomogun, in response to Davido’s lawsuit seeking joint custody and unrestricted access to their daughter.
Davido had claimed he has consistently fulfilled his financial responsibilities towards their child’s well-being, despite Sophia’s alleged unreasonable demands aimed at harassing and frustrating him. However, Momodu’s legal team has debunked these allegations, stating that Davido has chosen not to see their daughter since July 2022 and has solely relied on social media to portray himself as a supportive and active father, while she has shouldered the responsibility of caring for their daughter alone for the past two years.
The legal battle began when Davido filed a suit (LD/1587PMC/2024) seeking custody of their daughter, with Sophia listed as the sole respondent. The next hearing is set for Friday, July 5. The custody battle between the former partners has sparked intense interest, with many following the developments closely.
