In a recent survey conducted by Skytrax, an international evaluation organisation, Nigerian airlines failed to make the list of Africa’s best airlines.
The survey, which covered over 350 airlines globally, including 100 passenger responses from different nationalities, ranked Ethiopian Airlines, Royal Air Maroc, South African Airways, Kenya Airways, RwandAir, Air Mauritius, and Egyptair as the top seven airlines in Africa.
The survey evaluated airlines based on cabin service, ground service, onboard products, and amenities. While Nigerian airlines did not make the list, Kenya Airways won awards for Best Cabin Crew and Best Airline Staff, EgyptAir won Most Improved Airline, South African Airways won Cleanest Airline, and Ethiopian Airlines won Best Economy Class Seats in Africa.
Globally, Cathay Pacific Airways won World’s Cleanest Airline and World’s Best Economy Class, Singapore Airlines won World’s Best Cabin Crew, Qatar Airways won World’s Best Business Class, and Scoot won World’s Best Low-Cost Long Haul Airline.
The Skytrax aviation awards are considered the Oscars of the aviation industry, recognizing excellence in the sector. Nigerian airlines will need to improve their services to feature in future rankings.
