Veteran Nollywood actor, Olu Jacobs, has become the latest victim of fake news, as rumours of his demise spread like wildfire on social media.
But, in a swift debunking, Betty Irabor, founder of Genevieve Magazine, took to Twitter to confirm that Jacobs is indeed alive and well. “Olu Jacobs is well and alive. Please ignore all rumours of his passing,” she tweeted.
To further dispel the rumours, Jacobs’ family released a video showing the actor engaged in an activity, providing visual proof of his well-being.
This development comes after Jacobs’ wife, Joke Silva, opened up about her husband’s battle with dementia last year. She had revealed that the ailment had significantly changed the person she married, stating, “It hasn’t been easy. There was a point of acceptance for me that everything happening is reality and it is like the person I married, 80 per cent of the time is no longer there.”
With this clarification, fans and well-wishers can rest easy, knowing that the veteran actor is still with us.
