Two people were reported dead while another suffered injuries in an accident involving a Mitsubishi lancer and a moving truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Christopher University.
Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesman for the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, who confirmed that the accident occurred at approximately 7:44 am in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi said that AJW 465 AA was identified by the Mitsubishi Lancer rammed in from behind into a moving truck.
He also said the driver ran away with the truck instantly.

“According to an eyewitness, two of the three passengers on board, including the driver killed on the spot, rammed the Mitsubishi lancer loaded with pepper, into a moving truck inbound Lagos from behind.
“For now, the cause of the accident can not be ascertained immediately but we believe it may be due to brake failure before losing control due to excessive speed,” he said.
He further claimed that the deceased had been deposited in the private morgue of Fakoya in Sagamu while the wounded had been taken to Famobis Hospital in Lotto, Mowe, NAN sources.
