17-year-old boy killed during an attack on deposed Ondo monarch

Hoodlums have killed a seventeen-year-old boy recognized as Marvelous Akintubuwa in the course of an assault on the home of the deposed Olugbo of Ugbo, Prince Adebanjo Mafimisebi.

The corpse was thrown into a river from the place it was once recovered the subsequent day (Friday).

Sources stated the hoodlums have been from Ode Ugbo axis of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo state.

The source stated the hoodlums invaded the ancient palace at about 2am on Thursday, beat its occupants such as the former Olori of the deposed monarch.

Properties in the building had been stated to have been set ablaze via the hoodlums whilst many residents in the vicinity who tried to cease them had been beaten.

It was once gathered that the Mafimisebi household of the deposed traditional ruler, had petitioned the State governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu and safety agencies in the nation to intimate them about the unpleasant development.

In the petition signed by using Idowu Mafimisebi of Mafimisebi, Jayeola and Company, complained about the destruction of lives and property of the deposed monarch.

The petition referred to as on Governor Akeredolu and safety agencies “to come to the resource of our human beings and lift out a thorough investigation of these allegations very urgently due to the fact as at now there is a complete breakdown of regulation and order at Ode-Ugbo”.

Reacting, Ondo police spokesman, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, validated the assault however described it as s communal conflict between two groups.

He stated two homes had been destroyed and some people have been injured.
